Yes. CabStone pulls all required Massachusetts building permits and coordinates inspections with each town's building department, including Middleton, Danvers, Peabody, Beverly, Lynnfield, Salem, and surrounding North Shore communities. Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registration is required for contractors performing residential improvements on existing 1-to-4 unit owner-occupied dwellings where the contract price exceeds $1,000 (per MGL Chapter 142A). New construction, commercial work, and projects under $1,000 fall outside HIC scope. HIC-registered contractors contribute to the Residential Contractor's Guaranty Fund under MGL c.142A §5 and are subject to consumer protection oversight by the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. The Guaranty Fund can reimburse homeowners up to $25,000 per claimant for actual losses on certain unpaid judgments.
